Turtle Poems

As far as I can tell,

A turtle needs his shell,

And if he wants to hide,

He has a house and goes inside,

And there's another thing I know,

A turtle's really slow.

But his pace is steady,

And he does things when he is good and ready.

And another thing I know for sure,

Turtles are in a lot of literature.

Turtle Stories

Well there's Mertle and Yertle

The turtle

And many more, they all make you smile,

When you think of this reptile,

There's nothing that he lacks,

Has his house upon his back,

Turtles big and turtles small,

Doesn't matter, we love them all,

Especially all of the tales,

They work when all else fails.

Turtles Are Slow, But Sure

A turtle has its pride

And can go in its shell and hide

And he wears his shell

Very well

He's slow,

But eventually he does go

We should be like the turtle when we read

Because to be like a turtle is what we need

We should read slow

Then we'll remember what we know

And we'll remember well,

If we think of the turtle and his shell!
